“Not feeling sorry for yourself is important.”
Never a truer word spoken
Imagine having a ruined career but you’re still the best of all time 😂
I 100% agree with the under eat part. I’ve been doing 2 meals a day for a while and sometimes even 1 meal and I feel lighter and better
Wirklich beeindruckend!
Driving like a cunt fucked his career 😂😂😂
He is overweight
@@chrisbates7743 Your dog is overweight
I remember when Tiger hit the scene. It was often said at the time that his body wouldn’t hold up given the amount of body rotation he was doing thousands of times a day.
Tiger is a legend. No doubt about that.
Seems that was correct
Tiger overswung to a ridiculous degree. The body can take that in your 20’s. After that no.
@@yankeechicken61 I presume that’s why he rebuilt his swing from scratch a couple of times.
If Tiger had just left his swing alone from the 2000 era that Butch Harmon helped him to create he would have won over 100 tour events and possibly 25 majors. It was the greatest golf swing in history. That swing won 9 times in a year, 4 majors in a row including a US Open by 15 shots and set every record imaginable. I understand his mentality of always wanting to improve but I guarantee that if you asked him right now if it was a huge mistake to change that swing he would tell you it was.
Sorry, but no. During the time he was with Haney he won six more majors and was the best iron player ever to play the game during that time. With both his Haney swing, and his Harmon swing, he could hit the ball all over the golf course with his driver. He drove it pretty straight for the second half of 99' and most of 2000, but by mid 2001 he could hit the ball in another fairway at any time. He wanted to stop doing that. Nicklaus and Hogan never did that.
I wish we knew what Gary thinks about stuff 😂
Gary is fun. He doesn't hold back with his comments. As for Tiger, he did it to himself. He had it all, and he threw it away.
Threw it away lol. Yeah he won nothing and is a nobody for sure.
@@JonShew He threw away his reputation and respect.
@@TheIncomeInvestor-he6pghis clean imagine, yes, but everyone respects him as one of the GOATs. Nobody in the last 50 years comes close
@@michaeldellorso889You've never heard of Jack Nicklaus?
@@kepler240 I did. Which is how I know most of his work was done early 60s to early 70s
Unbelievable person! Thanks a lot for this interview. He is really an inspiration to anybody who is coming in his age.
A legend in his own mind . I love this guy . He used to play at my club when I was a kid . Did a demonstration one afternoon and showed us how strong his wrists were . The biggest guy in the club , Freddie Cartes couldn't even compete with him on wrist strength . I was very impressed and lucky to meet him in my life . 1985 Glendower .
He isn't a "legend in his own mind". He won over 160 golf tournaments including 9 major golf championships.
He is a legend, period.
@@Johnnybgood76 He's both
Legend in his own mind. You are a clown kid
I could listen to Gary talk about himself all day!
Unlike so many people (men) over 70, 80,
He looks ahead and works out!
Gary wanted to say Germany you were nuts to have an open door immigration policy !!
Angela Merkel changed the face of Europe forever and not for the better
Gary Player was a student of Frank Stranahan, who introduced him to weight lifting decades before it was popular.
What a great video and what a great lesson for eveybody. Stay strong and stay confident and stay young.. everything is a choice!
I don't really agree with Gary on Tiger. If you read the book "The Big Miss" by Hank Haney, the fact is Tiger bulked himself up to a point that was not really natural for his frame as well as getting injured in a Navy Seal camp (knee) that was the start of all of the serious injuries he had that ruined his career. He also had the psychological effects of his dad dying and his numerous affairs that led him astray on and off the course. As far a swing coaches, he never should have left Butch Harmon in my opinion (Haney was a worthy successor nonetheless) but no single coach derailed his career. Tiger was responsible for that. I think he could have done even more after the 2019 Masters win but that car crash where he fell asleep and shattered his leg and ankle really was the end for Tiger ever winning again unfortunately.
You said it yourself at the end, it was a car crash that ended it all. Right up to that he won a Masters for f sake. I bet 99.9% of pro golfers would love their career to be derailed like that lol to winning "only" one major every few years. This idea that he injured himself and overtrained or changed coaches like man he just got old and there was more competition and he still won Masters. There is no doubt if that car crash didnt happen he would have won one more major by now.
Yep unfortunately you cant bulk up your tendons. ligaments and spinal disks, Too much muscle for them to cope
Gary Player is always very generous with his time.
Love this interview and content, keep it up! subscribed
Thank you.
88 years old! amazing
Gary Player is the last of the old school and a Gentleman through and through. He has the correct outlook on life and on sport. If more kids had him as a role model the world would be a better place.
💪
Jack Nicklaus?
A truly honest man ,who is an interesting, intelligent, observant interview. 🤔
Love Gary Player and his philosophy on life. I don't see the need to label and define labels when it comes to Super Star golfers or anything else. Who cares about labels. But I agree and learn from almost everything Gary says. Great wisdom!!!!
In my opinion Tigers life started getting rough when his dad passed away! Tiger loved and respected his dad. He kept Tiger on course of greatness . I really don’t think half the crap that happened in these past years would have happened with his dad around!
How true. I said when I used to coach forget what they tell you. They don't know. I played pro after I stopped listening and simply stayed behind the ball and made a good swing.
💪
Tolles Interview!
Vielen lieben Dank. Das freut mich sehr zu hören!
It was Tiger Woods personal problems that caused his career to dip.
Yes for sure. I think so too.
Yes agree. But he is also over did the weight training.
@@mikerogers1949 ... Big time!!!
Yeah, he was quite successful for all the coaches ruining his career 😉
Good plan on course
Bad plan off the course
Tolles Interview.

he is a great human no dbout!!!
i admire him im 50 and have 10% of his energy!!!
Tiger’s 14th Major was NOT the US Open at Pebble Beach. That one was in 2000. His last one before the 2019: Masters was the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines.
A day ago this guy is still smacking his abs. A beast.
very interesting . Mr Player sounds like a real player.! great champion great man. one meal a day! fantastic
Thank you :)
Great inspirational man
He is indeed. Lot of energy.
Everybody's got their own theories I guess. Tiger physically beat up his body through is training regimen, and it is even reported (some people say 🙂) that he was trying to qualify as some sort of Special Forces military equivalent....who knows. BTW, my wife's grandma had at least 6 small meals a day, and didn't see a doctor (not even for the birth of her 8 kids) until she was 104 in a small town in Mexico. In fact her whole family has an incredible lifeline; almost all grandma's live to be near 100. Grandpas mostly died in their late 40s etc...falling from horses, hit by lightning, or even a gunfight. I hear these stories every Christmas.
Yeah well at least he found a way for himself to stay healthy. He's very good in shape, that's impressive.
Yep. My neighbor smokes 2 packs a day, and he's healthy as a horse.
@@KWGOLFT Agree.
Re TW. Nobody stays ontop forever. I do think he is the best golfer of all time. He's in a different league than the older legends. Because times have changed. You cannot compare them. Tiger Woods is still the best ive seen.
Weiter so 👋👋👋
Vielen Dank Joachim. So ein Feedback hört man doch gerne. Freut mich, wenn es dir gefallen hat!
GP helped Black Golfer on Tour with $$ and lodging, advice and true friendship ❤️
Jaholl. mein heir .. that's why Gary always wears black.. The Black Knight...He,s got the right philosophy.. I,m 70 and look like him..
I hope to meet him one day. I am also from South Africa.
He is a south african legend.
Mr.Player is definitely a visionary as well as our Best Elder Statesman of golf
One thing though Gary….Tiger almost had to have his leg amputated because of his car accident, sit-ups and push ups will not cut it.
Mr. Player should write a book about his diet and fitness routine. Amazing
Great man giving great advice.
💪
You gotta love a Gary player interview. Never disapoints
Not to forget Tiger was coached by Butch Harmon since 14, a lot of success together.
Super gemacht, viel erlebt👍☀️🏌️♂️
Danke dir. :)
Wahnsinn der Mann. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Vielen Dank dir. Ja, der Mann hat Energie.
Amateur golfers lack only one thing compared to professionals ... talent. 😅😂
Yes, and time
Gary Player for president? 😜
I agree with the coaching part…. Being a Canadian, and a hockey fan for life, there has been a weird trend in the NHL for last decade and a half, teams employ an absolute ordinary, mediocre former goalie, to coach the team’s goalies. Doesn’t make sense.
Always great to hear Mr. Player’s perspective. Well done sir. 🇨🇦💝🙏👍
Inspiring 👌🏻
Yes indeed.
Golf coaches didn't ruin Tiger Woods' career. He was able to win majors whilst using what were, in effect, three different swings.
Tiger Woods' career came unstuck as a result of his increasingly physical/fitness problems and the way he conducted himself in his personal life. All good things come to end regardless, and Tiger Woods had his day.
I love Gary Player, one of the best people to come out of SA.
and maybe Elon Musk.
This guy knows everything.
2:55 1000% correct, very nice.
The guy is just a little bit full of hisself.
😬
9 Majors........he has every right to be.
@terrya8989 Actually, hubris is more flattering. Never saw Nicklaus full of hisself.
I'm glad this popped up on my feed.
What an interesting guy Gary Player is.
Thanks from England.
Me, I and myself...
Thank for the feedback. Appreciate it. :-)
@vacancesaventures yeah well he likes himself very much. 😅
I followed Gary one time at a senior tour and he said I'm going to hit here its going to hit it below the trees hit bunker and bounce on the green. and then he DID IT.
HOW MANY SIT UPS HAS HE DONE TODAY? LOL
love gary!!!
he is a real gem!! Amazing condition for 88 years young!!!
Vielen lieben Dank dir. :)
What did Gary mean about his issues with Germany today?
I think he doesn't like the way how Germany is developing at the moment.
All the migration intentionally being done to RUIN THE COUNTRY
This title should be revised to "Tiger Woods stupid choices ruined his career."
Gary said so... 😅
😂 player just loves to hear himself talk..
He is a narciisist . of course ,
like most of the top athletes in the world , thats why they are World champions.
They are totally obsessed with winning , their own personality s .. the media attention,
and then the money..
Tiger made so much money and has had a lot of problems with Women.. thats been his downfall..
he lost the plot because of all the money and the women problems...
Sounds a bit like Boris Becker ?
Gary loves himself some Gary. Has all the answers 🤦🏽♂😂
Narc
Yep, his favourite topic is himself. Can only take so much.
We all like to hear ourselves talk. This guy may have a big ego... but he has backed it up... with 9 majors.... not many can say that.
insane that this guy is almost 90
Tigers 14th Major was the US Open in 2008 in a playoff, he won in 2000 by 15 shots at Pebble Beach...oh yeah and Michael Campbell is from New Zealand....and on and on and on. Lol
"the lady tennis player" aka Steffi Graf
Gary Player is to golf what Jackie Stewart is to F1, they should do a pod cast it would be hilarious.
Classy Man.
Mr. Know It All
Haha true.
I think I have lost count on the number of times Gary Player has changed his secret to success in life and longevity😂😂😂
No coach can be held responsible. Tiger is Tiger . He was always clear on what he wanted to do , change , why and how . He used coaches for sounding boards only .
I think Tiger has had a unbelievable career anyway. :)
Yeah for Gary to say that is just ridiculous.
I'll take Gary Players opinion over somebody who posts a comment on youtube
Gary Player lifting 350lbs with his legs.....The man is a God
John Daly has entered the chat
Keep goin strong gary
What a guy….Period.
loves the sound of his own voice and rates himself
he can afford to.
@@GlenRealty and he knows it. He's full of himself.
He's his own and biggest fan
The guy is like Peter Weyland out of the film Prometheus. You can’t live forever.
Haha no you can't.
At the 4:18 mark he said he works on 10 things every day of his life. What are the 10 things??
He didn't continue to tell. 😅
Richtig interesantes Gespraech.
Great listening to Gary's thoughts and I'm probably being a little pedantic but perhaps Gary should bring his criterium for being a superstar golfer down from 6 majors. Seve, 5 majors, not a superstar?
Yes I think sometimes he is a little bit "over the top".
Id put phil Mickelson above Sev
@@pigslefats I wasn't putting Seve above anyone just saying he was a golf superstar without 6 Majors, Phil has 6.
Gary Player is 100% correct about everything he said. God Bless you, Gary!!
Is he talking about Butch Harmon or Hank Haney ruining Tiger... or maybe someone more recent?
Gary Player loves Gary Player.
When you love yourself you can love others.
Much wisdom from Mr. Player.
I’m a hack golfer. But for me. There’s nothing more cool than playing a hole in the wall golf courses. They can be so challenging
💪
Echt krasser Sportsman.
He WANTS to be 100? Sounds like he already is. 1) Tiger wasnt getting lessons from Haney they week after winning the 2000 US Open. 2) It's not like Butch Harmon could break 80 at the Masters either. And 3) Even Rory didn't break 80 at the Masters in the final round when he had a 4 shot lead. The fact is, by the end of 2001, Tiger was hitting the ball all over the place with his driver. He wanted to clean that up and own his golf swing. And BTW, he won 6 majors with his Haney swing (not that I'm defending that swing or Haney). I don't think that can be clasified as 'ruining his career.'
When I heard him say coaches ruined Tiger Woods' career, I couldn't believe it. But this guy is Gary Player so I'm wondering if he could be right?
